Filters sit in the left sidebar on desktop and behind the funnel button on smaller screens. Use them to narrow the same result list by jurisdiction, date range, type, issue area, district or agency, court, decision maker, and outcome.

Narrower filters reduce the list immediately while keeping the same search.
Selected filters appear as removable chips at the top of the filter panel. Click a chip’s x to remove one filter.
The Clear all link removes narrowing filters at once. Jurisdiction stays in its own section.
The compact toolbar above the results controls summaries, flags, saved searches, sorting, and, on mobile, the filter drawer. Icon tooltips name each control.
Sort by Relevance, Most Recent, Oldest First, or Most Cited. Signed-in users can save an active search, including its filters, for later.
