STATE OF RHODE ISLAND
AND
PROVIDENCE PLANTATIONS
COMMISSIONER OF EDUCATION
IN RE: RESIDENCY OF JANE A.V. DOE
DECISION
Held: The case is moot.
DATE: March 25, 1997
The school district North Providence contends that Student Doe is a resident of Providence for school purposes and that, for this reason, she should not be attending the North Providence public schools. Testimony was placed on the record indicating that the student’s mother was living in Providence and that, at the time of the hearing, there was no reason why the student could not live with her mother. Subsequent to the hearing the Department of Education was advised that this student has left the schools of North Providence and has been enrolled in Providence. This matter is therefore dismissed as moot.
Conclusion
The above entitled matter is dismissed as moot.
