ISSUES:

PROCEDURAL HISTORY:

The Parent initiated this special education due process matter on December 4, 2017. This Impartial Hearing Officer was assigned to the case on December 4, 2017. A Prehearing Conference was convened on December 18, 2017. The Parent, appeared on behalf of the Student and the Board of Education, Region 15 was represented by Attorney Julie Fay. During the conference, the Board requested an extension of the decision date in the matter to permit the Board and the Parent sufficient time to participate in mediation to pursue settlement prior to proceeding with hearing. Following a PPT, on January 14, 2018, the Parent requested that the case be dismissed.

FINAL DECISION AND ORDER:

The matter is DISMISSED without prejudice.
