Did the District err when it denied Parent’s request for a diagnostic placement for Student?

PROCEDURAL HISTORY AND SUMMARY:

On April 25, 2016, the Board of Education received Parent’s request for a Special Education Due Process Hearing. The deadline for the mailing of the Final Decision and Order was July 8, 2016. On May 3, 2016, Parent sent an email to the Hearing Officer in which she indicated that the parties had engaged in mediation that day and that the matter had settled and she no longer required a hearing. Based on Parent’s withdrawal, no prehearing conference was held and hearing dates were not set. i

FINAL DECISION AND ORDER:

In light of the above facts, the case is dismissed.
