Wilton Board of Education v. Student - CT SDE Case No. 21-0302
Case No. 21-0302
Wilton Board of Education v. Student [1]
Appearing on behalf of Student: Student’s Parents, Pro Se
Appearing on behalf of the Board of Education: Attorney Andreana Bellach Shipman & Goodwin LLP 300 Atlantic Street Stamford, CT 06901
Appearing before: Janis C. Jerman Hearing Officer
A special education hearing in the above-captioned matter was requested by the Board of Education’s (BOE’s) Attorney via letter dated April 5, 2021. [2] The 45-day deadline to mail the final decision and order is May 20, 2021.
The following issues are identified:
1. Was the Board of Education’s 2021 evaluation of Student appropriate?
2. If the answer to Issue One above is in the negative, is Student entitled to an Independent Educational Evaluation in the area of neuropsychology at the Board of Education’s expense?
Via email dated April 13, BOE’s Attorney indicated that Student’s Parents withdrew their request for an independent educational evaluation at public expense, with prejudice, and that based on that withdrawal, BOE withdraws its request for a due process hearing.
The above-captioned case is dismissed.
