PROCEDURAL BACKGROUND:
A Request for a Due Process Hearing was filed by Peter G. Albert (“Albert”) and Patrick Donohue (“Donohue”), apparently on behalf of Student and/or Parents, on September 4, 2020. An investigation of the records of the State of Connecticut Judicial Department reflects that neither Albert nor Donohue is authorized to practice law in the Superior Court of the State of Connecticut. R. C. S. A. Section 10-76h-11requires a visiting attorney be sponsored by a Connecticut attorney in good standing who shall be responsible for the actions of the visiting attorney. There has been no appearance filed in this case by any attorney admitted to the Bar of this state. Furthermore, the Student or Parent(s) have not contacted the Bureau of Special education themselves, or otherwise indicated any plan to proceed pro se.
Accordingly, this matter must be dismissed as it has not been initiated by a student, a student’s parent, or an attorney authorized to practice law in the Superior Court of the State of Connecticut as required by Section 10-76h-11.
FINAL DECISION AND ORDER:
The case is DISMISSED without prejudice.
