ISSUE:

Whether the Board offered an appropriate placement in a district preschool for the special needs student or was there a more appropriate alternative available?

PROCEDURAL HISTORY/SUMMARY:

The parents of the Student brought the Due Process Complaint and Hearing Request on November 18, 2017. The Hearing Officer was appointed on November 20, 2017. A Prehearing Conference was held on November 29, 2017 but the parents did not attend. At a resolution meeting on November 6, 2017, the parties had scheduled private mediation on December 1, 2017. The mediation took place and resulted in an agreement. Counsel for the Board notified the Hearing Officer on December 1, 2017 that the parties had reached a settlement and the due process complaint was withdrawn without prejudice.

FINAL DECISION AND ORDER:

The matter is DISMISSED.
