1. Whether the Student was denied FAPE in the 2016-2017 school year and extended school year?

2. Whether the Student was denied FAPE in the 2017-2018 school year and extended school year?

3. Whether the Parents are entitled to reimbursement for their placement of the Student at Second Nature?

4. Whether the Parents are entitled to reimbursement for their placement of the Student at the Discovery School of Virginia?

5. Whether the Parents are entitled to reimbursement for costs associated with educational consultants, evaluations, travel expenses and therapies?

6. Whether the Student is entitled to compensatory education, in the form of placement at the Discovery School of Virginia for the upcoming school year (2017-18) or thereafter, or some other appropriate remedy?

PROCEDURAL HISTORY/SUMMARY:

The Parent filed the Due Process Complaint and Request for Hearing on June 5, 2017. The Hearing Officer was appointed on June 6, 2017, and held a Prehearing Conference on June 19, 2017. The mailing date was extended to September 16, 2017. On September 1, 2017, the Parent, through counsel, e-mailed the Hearing Officer and withdrew the Due Process Complaint.

FINAL DECISION AND ORDER:

In light of the above, the matter is DISMISSED.
