Legal Malpractice

Lawyers make mistakes. If their mistake causes you to lose money, they can be required by law to reimburse you for the money that you lost. In most instances expert testimony is required to prove legal malpractice. Among the types of cases that Attorney Goldberg has handled are matters where clients suffered losses as a result of attorneys who have missed deadlines, failed to file documents or did so improperly, or engaged in a conflict of interest. For example, in a recent case Mr. Goldberg obtained a favorable judgment for a client who lost money as the result of an attorney's negligent representation of an employee of a corporation, the corporation itself and the principals of a corporation all in the same loan transaction.

Attorney Goldberg has also served as an expert witness for other attorneys in legal malpractice claims. As a former chairman of the Boston Bar Association's Fee Dispute Committee, where he was responsible for overseeing complaints filed with the association by individuals who were dissatisfied with the fees charged by their attorneys, Mr. Goldberg has an extensive background in the area of attorney misconduct.
